The Democracy Center is hosting a "Weekly Civics" gathering. "Weekly Civics" is an informal space for people in the Cambridge/Boston area to come together, meet one another, share ideas, learn about the political process, and brainstorm how we can address issues that matter to us.
I'm excited to officially kick off my campaign for Cambridge City Council.
Please invite a friend or neighbor and join me on Wednesday, May 17th from 6:00-8:00pm at Atwoods Tavern in East Cambridge to learn about my reasons for running, my hopes for the campaign, and ways to join our team.
If you're unable to join, but would like to donate, you can mail a check payable to "Committee to Elect Sumbul Siddiqui" to 530 Windsor Street, Cambridge, MA 02141.

Paradise, a play produced by Underground Railway Theater, is playing from April 6 - May 7, 2017 at the Central Square Theater.
The plot: Yasmeen, a Muslim-American teenager in the Bronx, meets with her teacher Dr. Royston, a mysterious scientist forced to teach high school biology. If she salvages her perfect score, she can claim her independence: pursue her passion for science while honoring her cultural traditions. An unlikely, inspired partnership is created, investigating the neuroscience of adolescent romantic love. Clashes arise out of their conflicts over religion, science, and mentorship as both teacher’s and student’s lives are transformed forever.
Following the show, I will be speaking alongside other Muslim-American youth on a panel, where we will share our reflections on Paradise and our own experiences growing up in the United States. Join us!
